Elvis immersive show leaves fans furious ‘The worst experience of my life’ | Music | Entertainment

Last year, the Elvis Presley Estate and British company Layered Reality announced an “immersive concert experience” using AI and holographic projection.

New technology was set to create a life-size digital Elvis made up of thousands of personal photos and home-video footage with a hologram set to perform live on stage.

Fans flying in from around the world with their pre-ordered tickets (£300 per VIP stub) are expecting some quality entertainment.

Yet after two delays, London’s Elvis Evolution is finally here and has failed to deliver what fans were hoping for in a part of the British capital that already hosts the incredible ABBA Voyage show.

Our 1 star review slammed the overhyped and overpriced new attraction, which has been called an insult to The King’s legacy. And now furious fans have let rip on the Elvis Evolution Instagram account comments. Check out the top rants from those who feel they were massively let down, followed by a response from the production.

“Was the worst experience ever, I went today, worst experience of my life.”

“So missold to people …… it could have been so great… such a shame”

“They sold it as a hologram and it’s just the footage of Elvis on a screen. At the most recent slots people were walking out and many who paid £300 per ticket were not treated any different to those who paid significantly less… someone said they had 2 tickets for £90! Yet the cheapest ticket was advertised as £75 upwards! People were told to hurry and finish their drinks only to rush and then be left waiting another 20 mins… check the reviews everywhere and you will see a lot of information about what it is and what it isn’t.

“Completely agree! It was a present for my mother’s 80th birthday yesterday and it was dreadful. I feel we were totally mislead!

our tickets were £75.00 but we travelled to London and it had lunch etc, so it was quite an expensive day. I spoke to the manager and he really did not seem bothered. Like you said, they told us the bar was closing, so we bolted down our cocktail only to sit there for another 20 minutes for a totally pointless acting scene. We would have had a better time watching the movie again with great drinks and good. It was the worst show I have ever seen.

“100% agree with your comments. Gutted as it wasn’t cheap.”

Meanwhile, other furious fans wanted to know where the hologram Elvis was after just a few seconds of the AI King featured in the production.

One fans said: “I don’t think they had it, they did originally advertise it a while back but for some reason they removed it sadly.

“The 2 tickets for £90 were part of a promotion in January for Elvis 90th birthday. All the hype last January 2024 was around the Elvis hologram which is main reason I booked. Going 31st July. Not looking forward to it.”

A spokesperson for Elvis Evolution told Daily Star in response to the mass backlash: “Elvis Evolution has been praised by Elvis fans and newcomers alike — but it’s not a traditional concert or hologram show. From the outset of development, we made a deliberate decision to explore the most powerful and authentic ways to tell Elvis’ story. This major scale production brings together a cast of 28 performers and over 300 skilled professionals across design, production, and visual effects. Elvis Evolution is a multisensory experience, where technology plays a powerful supporting role — but the show doesn’t attempt to recreate Elvis’ performances. Instead, it joyfully celebrates the ones he gave us. We’re incredibly proud of what’s been created, and of how it’s reconnecting people with Elvis in new and meaningful ways.”
