Pep Guardiola will prioritise the capture of a full-back in the summer and is said to have been hugely impressed by Livramento’s progress on Tyneside.
But Howe will have no interest in allowing Livramento to move on, with the England international having established himself as Newcastle’s first choice right-back this season ahead of Kieran Trippier.
Howe has had to get used to his key players being linked with moves away from Newcastle, with Alexander Isak, Bruno Guimaraes and Anthony Gordon all the subject of speculation over the course of the last 12 months.

But the head coach says his focus is on strengthening the squad rather than losing stars, as the Magpies look to add much-needed depth after having their hands tied by PSR regulations in recent windows.
“It goes without saying (that he’d want to keep Livramento),” said Howe.
“It’s frustrating for us that we’re consistently talking about players rumoured to be leaving. We want to go the other way and strengthen our group.
“We want to make the team stronger for the future rather than lose our best players.”
