MAN CITY (4-2-3-1):
Edersen 8; Lewis 7, Khusanov 7, Stones 8, Gvardiol 8 (O’Reilly 87); Gonzalez 7, Gundogan 7 (Nunes 87); Savinho 8, Foden 8 (McAtee 75), MARMOUSH 9 (Doku 75); Haaland 7 (Kovacic 87).
Subs (not used): Ortega (gk), Reis, de Bruyne, Bernardo.
NEWCASTLE (4-3-3):
5 Dubravka: Didn’t have a chance with any of Marmoush’s goals, but was hesitant on occasion
3 Trippier: All over the place – made a dreadful error for City’s opening goal and was hauled off at half-time
4 Schar: Had a difficult game at the hands of the City attack – was caught too far upfield on a number of occasions
5 Burn: Things would have been even worse without him – made a great sliding clearance from a Haaland cross
3 Hall: His defensive limitations were repeatedly exposed by Savinho – especially poor for City’s third goal
4 Guimaraes: Couldn’t get a grip on the Man City midfield, with his play lacking its usual aggression
4 Tonali: Was a pedestrian for much of the game, with his game lacking its usual poise and control
3 Willock: A lacklustre showing – paid the price for Newcastle’s collective first-half malaise as he was taken off at the break
4 Murphy: Wasn’t a factor for the vast majority of the afternoon – failed to deliver a single telling pass
4 Isak: Couldn’t pose a threat, with his only half-chance coming to nothing as he shot wide in the first half
4 Gordon: Wasn’t really a factor down Newcastle’s left-hand side – kept on straying offside in the second half
Subs:
5 Livramento (for Trippier, 46): Was better than the player he replaced, but that wasn’t saying a lot
6 MILEY (for Willock, 46): Newcastle’s best player – must have a good chance of starting next weekend
Wilson (for Gordon, 72)
Longstaff (for Guimaraes, 72)
Krafth (for Isak, 90)
(not used): Pope (gk), Targett, Barnes, Osula.
Man Of The Match: OMAR MARMOUSH – The Manchester City forward ran amok as he claimed a first-half hat-trick.
