The creator of Succession, Jesse Armstrong, is set to release his latest project, an HBO original film titled Mountainhead.

Armstrong, who brought us the hit drama series that spanned four seasons, is ready to introduce his newest title since the show concluded in 2023.

According to the brief synopsis, the film follows a group of tech billionaires who head to the mountains for a group holiday. However, a financial crisis back home begins to spiral out of control and spill onto the streets.

Comedian Ramy Youssef, who has starred in Wish and Poor Things and co-created the series Mo, portrays Jeff. Cory Michael Smith, known for his roles as Chevy Chase in Saturday Night and the Riddler in Gotham, plays Venis.

Supporting the main cast are Little Women’s Hadley Robinson and seasoned character actor Andy Daley, known for his appearances in Eastbound and Down, Modern Family and Veep.

Where was Mountainhead filmed?

The film’s trailer showcases a group of wealthy individuals enjoying the luxuries of a mountain chalet, leading many viewers to question where the film was shot.

While details about the actual building, such as whether it’s a private residence or commercial property, remain unknown, filming took place over five weeks at this single location.

Filming occurred earlier this year, in March 2025, in Park City, Utah.
