New Nintendo Switch 2 Direct confirmed – Date, time and how to watch Mario Kart showcase | Gaming | Entertainment

According to Nintendo, the Mario Kart World live stream will focus exclusively on the Switch 2 launch game, and will run for approximately 15 minutes.

“Tune in on Thursday, April 17th at 14:00 (UK time) and hit the open road alongside Mario and friends with the Mario Kart World Direct, featuring an in-depth look at the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 game,” Nintendo explains. “The livestream will be roughly 15 minutes long.”

Nintendo fans can also watch the Mario Kart World Direct via the recently launched Nintendo Today app, which is available for iOS and Android.

In terms of what fans can expect, the Mario Kart World Direct will likely contain a more in-depth look into the different game modes and features.

Daily Express went hands-on with Mario Kart World during the Nintendo Switch 2 Experience in Paris. Needless to say, playing Mario Kart World Knockout Tour was the highlight of the entire event.

The excellent online mode sees 24 players compete in an elimination-style race across multiple checkpoints.

The length of the courses and regular item placement means that despite losing four racers at every checkpoint, the chaos never subsides.

You always feel like you’re in with a chance of making the cut-off point, even if you find yourself in last place with just a few corners to go. It really is a fantastic new game mode.

In addition to Knockout Tour, it will be nice to find out more about the open-world exploration and the traditional Gran Prix mode.

With the Switch 2 launching on June 5, don’t be surprised if more Nintendo Direct conferences are announced in the weeks and months ahead.
