Overwatch 2 fans are counting down to the release of Season 17, which is coming to PlayStation, Xbox and PC.

The new Overwatch 2 season is titled Powered Up. It has something of an old-school video game feel, something that is reflected in the Battle Pass rewards.

Overwatch 2 Seasob 17 has a June 24 release date. Fans will be able to check out the new content after downloading an update, which is expected to go live at around 5pm BST UK time.

The highlight of the new season is the release of a new Battle Pass, complete with new skins and other items.

As you can see from the picture below, the Season 17 Premium Battle Pass features 8-bit Reinhardt, Genji, and Sombra skins, as well as Delinquent Cole Cassidy and Professor Fawkes Junkrat from Overwatch Academy.

Additional rewards include Sakura Ana, two Legendary Loot Boxes, 500 Credits, a full range of cosmetics like emotes, souvenirs, charms, name cards, voice lines and 80 Mythic Prisms to unlock the Mythic Horang D.Va Hero Skin, Mythic Steel Death Reaper Weapon Skin, or other Mythic content.

Elsewhere, the Ultimate Battle Pass Bundle adds 20 Tier Skips, 2,000 Overwatch Coins, and two extra Legendary skins: Principal Lacroix Widowmaker and Professor de Kuiper Sigma. There’s also a free Battle Pass containing a Legendary Loot Box, 600 Coins, 1,500 Credits, plus the Epic 8-bit Orisa and Zenyatta skins.

Speaking of rewards, the season will kick off with the Powered Up event from June 24 until June 30.

Blizzard explains more: “Complete 17 matches in Quick Play, Competitive, or Stadium to earn 4 Epic Loot Boxes, with a guaranteed Legendary skin within.

“Progress tracks across Quickplay, Competitive, and Stadium, but doesn’t apply to Custom Games, Hero Mastery, or Practice vs AI.”

In terms of new content, Season 17 includes a big update to Stadium. Zenyatta, Sigma, and Junkrat are coming to Stadium, alongside new Stadium maps, including Esperança and Samoa.

“Strategy will run deeper thanks to expanded build tools and the debut of Stadium Forge: a create/save/share system to test and refine your team comps like a pro, which will include early and late game example loadouts for every Hero,” Blizzard continues.

Season 17 also introduces the first Stadium rank reset. That’s on top of Drives to reward consistent performance, Custom Games for making your own rules, plus fresh All-Star rewards.

Elsewhere, Map Voting will finally go live Quick Play and Competitive. Fans can vote after the role queue locks. You’ll get three maps to choose from, with the winner decided randomly.

Blizzard will disable team chat during voting, as well as battle tags, and individual voting.

Finally, the new season adds two new mythics, including D.Va’s Mythic Horang Hero Skin and Reaper’s Mythic Steel Death Weapon Skin. Both mythics have four levels to unlock.
