Le Fee replaces Harrison Jones in one of three changes to the Sunderland side for today’s game at Bristol City.
Leo Hjelde replaces Alan Browne, with Trai Hume moving back across to the right side of the defence. And Eliezer Mayenda comes into the side up-front in place of Wilson Isidor.
All three players who drop out of the side are on the bench, as is the returning Jobe Bellingham.
Le Fee will play in a central role at Ashton Gate, with Patrick Roberts and Tommy Watson starting on the flanks.
Dan Neil and Chris Rigg will join Le Fee in midfield, with Chris Mepham and Luke O’Nien again starting at centre-half.
Le Bris had suggested at the start of the week that Le Fee would again be a substitute at Bristol City, with the head coach telling of the need for “slow and gradual” patience with the Roma loanee.
But he then revealed in his press conference on Wednesday that Le Fee was likely to start at Ashton Gate. Le Bris has repeatedly told of his belief that Le Fee is at his best in a central role. The Frenchman played most of his football on the left initially after joining.
