The £100m football ace was spotted at several drinking spots in the region on Sunday, March 2 – just hours after Manchester City beat Plymouth in the FA Cup.
Grealish – who was in Pep Guardiola’s starting lineup for the clash on Saturday – was world’s away from the football pitch as he relaxed at the North Biddick Social Club, in Washington.
Punters were seemingly left stunned after the ex-Aston Villa player’s appearance, which came six days ahead of Man City’s clash with Nottingham Forest next Saturday.
Pictures widely circulated online showed humble Grealish sporting a grey hoodie and blue jeans, with many saying he was “no different than one of us”.
The 29-year-old then travelled around 30 minutes to Newcastle city centre, where he visited popular Irish bar The Dubliner, located off the city’s Quayside.
Footage online – believed to be taken around 11pm – shows Grealish walking out of the venue alongside a friend, while holding a glass bottle in his hand.
One person said: “This is why I like him. Just a normal lad doing normal lad stuff who just happens to have a talent that makes him minted. Always brilliant with fans too.”
Another added: “You know something, he is just a normal lad, who gets extremely well paid for a job that is his hobby. One thing is for sure, he has never forgotten his roots!”
