Nobbs, who was born in Stockton and raised in Bishop Middleham, near Ferryhill, returns to her native North-East after spending the last 15 years with Arsenal and Aston Villa in the Women’s Super League. She currently holds the record for the most WSL appearances with 208 in total.

Now 32, Nobbs’ career started at Sunderland, leaving for Arsenal in 2010. In more than 12 years with the Gunners, she made 270 appearances, scoring 81 goals. She won 12 domestic trophies in north London, including three WSL titles and four FA Cups.
The midfielder made the switch to Villa in January 2023, going on to make 67 appearances for the Midlands club.

Nobbs was part of the Lionesses squad that finished second at the Women’s World Cup in 2023.
On signing for Newcastle, Nobbs said: “I think they are a very ambitious club and, speaking to everyone, the goal is to get promoted and push women’s football in the North-East. I want to be part of that.
“I’ve always had a winning mentality, and it’s the same mentality here, every game is like a cup final. I want to be part of a successful club that push to the next level.”
Newcastle manager Becky Langley added: “Jordan’s experience speaks for itself. She knows what it takes to win and has achieved so much in her career, both domestically and internationally, and we are absolutely delighted that she is joining Newcastle United.
