Sunderland team news against Millwall with two changes

Browne replaces the injured Dennis Cirkin in the starting line-up, with Trai Hume moving to left-back.

Cirkin, Leo Hjelde and Jenson Seelt all miss out today, with Dan Ballard and Aji Alese also sidelined. That’s forced Le Bris into his defensive rethink. Browne was preferred over Joe Anderson, who hasn’t played a single Championship minute this season and is on the bench.

The only other change for Sunderland is up-front, with Wilson Isidor returning to the starting line-up in place of Eliezer Mayenda.

Luke O’Nien and Chris Mepham start at centre-half; Dan Neil, Jobe Bellingham and Chris Rigg in midfield and Patrick Roberts and Romaine Mundle will support Isidor.

Aaron Connolly starts for Millwall, having scored for Sunderland against the Lions in the reverse fixture.
