Sunderland v Blackburn Rovers Team News: Seven changes for Black Cats

Le Bris is continuing with his policy of rotating to rest key players ahead of next month’s play-off campaign.

With Trai Hume suspended following his sending off in Friday’s defeat at Bristol City, Alan Browne will line up at right-back with Joe Anderson handed a rare opportunity on the left of the back four. This will be Anderson’s first league start since joining Sunderland 811 days ago.

Salis Abdul  Samed will start in the central-midfield role as Dan Neil drops out of the starting side, with Jobe Bellingham and Milan Aleksic likely to play on either side of him.

Harrison Jones is also in the starting line-up, and could find himself starting on the right-hand side, with Tommy Watson filling the wide-attacking role on the left.

Wilson Isidor has been selected as Sunderland’s starting striker, with Eliezer Mayenda dropping down to the bench despite having scored a superb solo goal at Ashton Gate on Friday.

SUNDERLAND (4-3-3): Patterson; Browne, Mepham, O’Nien, Anderson; Bellingham, Samed, Aleksic; Jones, Isidor, Watson.

Subs: Moore, Neil, Roberts, Rigg, Mayenda, Hjelde, Le Fee, Bainbridge, Middlemas.
