8 Travers: Once again Boro’s best best player, which says a lot. Made three crucial second half saves to ensure Boro at least left with a point.
6 Dijksteel: Had his sticky moments but that’s inevitable against a player like Sainz.
7 Howson: Was a serenaded during and after the game by Boro’s fans, who want the captain to stay on.
7 Fry: Clean sheet on his return to the side. Played well. Thrown up-front late on.
5 Iling-Junior: Looked uncomfortable at times with Jack Stacey, who got in behind on a few occasions. At least tried to drive Boro forward when he could.
7 Hackney: Tried to drive Boro forward but the lack of movement in front made life difficult for the midfielder.
7 Morris: Tenacious midfield display from Morris, who, like Hackney, tried to drive Boro on and hit the post in the second half.
4 Whittaker: Deployed on his favoured right flank but another underwhelming display. Dragged one first half shot wide and blazed another over with another after the break.
4 Iheanacho: Another ineffective display from the loanee, who was brought back into the team but had no impact on the game and spurned one opportunity in the first half when he delayed his shot. Replaced on the hour.
4 Azaz: Way short of his best. Too many sloppy touches and didn’t hurt Norwich.
5 Conway: No shortage of effort and was desperately trying to add some second half urgency. Went close with one second half effort but starved of service for the most part.
