MIDDLESBROUGH (4-2-3-1):

5 Travers: Didn’t have a chance with either goal and has been one of the few bright spots for Boro this season

4 Dijksteel: A ragged display that could well prove to be his final outing in a Boro shirt – lacked composure

5 Howson: Made a couple of important blocks, but stood off Rudoni as the Coventry midfielder scored

5 Fry: Retained his place despite van den Berg’s return but struggled to deal with Coventry’s runners from deep

4 Borges: Restored to the side at left-back, but had a tough time against Sakamoto before being replaced midway through the second half

4 Morris: A disappointing display from a player who has failed to build on the bright start to his Boro career

5 Hackney: Tried to get Boro going but was ultimately disappointing – can the Teessiders keep hold of his this summer?

4 Whittaker: Another display in which he failed to produce an end product – hasn’t lived up to his billing since his January move

6 AZAZ: Displayed some urgency at least, and came close with his first-half shot that was turned onto the post

4 Iling-Junior: Played most of the match in midfield, but failed to close down Sakamoto as he crossed for Coventry’s opener

5 Conway: His effort couldn’t be faulted, but he lacked the pace needed to break clear of the Coventry defence
