The Black Cats have announced a continental double-header on the weekend before the start of the new Premier League season.
Regis Le Bris’ side will head to Germany on Saturday, August 9 to face Bundesliga side Augsburg at the WWK Arena (2pm).
They will then return to England for their final pre-season game 24 hours later, which will see them host La Liga side Rayo Vallecano at the Stadium of Light on Sunday, August 10 (4.30pm).
Sunderland, who are also set to host Spanish side Real Betis at the Stadium of Light on Saturday, August 2, will then kick off the new Premier League season at home to West Ham United on Saturday, August 16.
