Graeme Lee’s side defeated Rochdale 5-4 on penalties after a draw after 120 minutes.

Following the stunning victory, Spennymoor fans entered the pitch to celebrate. Rochdale’s fans also entered the pitch of their Crown Oil Arena and there were clashes between both sets of supporters.

Fans were dispersed from the pitch but the crowd trouble continued outside the ground.

Spennymoor went on to Wembley, where they were defeated 3-0 by Aldershot Town in the FA Trophy Final.

PC Rob Smith said: “We were called after fans from both sides entered the pitch after the final whistle.

“Although no arrests were made on the day and the fans were quickly dispersed, disorder took place between both sets of supporters inside and outside the ground.
