Nixie Corcoran, a junior member at Blackwell Grange Golf Club, secured the title of Ladies’ Club Champion 2025 after two impressive rounds during the championship weekend.
Aaron Cox, assistant PGA professional at Blackwell Grange and Nixie’s coach, said: “This is a proud moment not only for Nixie and her family but for the entire club.
“She’s an incredibly talented player but also carries herself with maturity and composure far beyond her years.
“She’s got a very bright future ahead.”
Leading by two shots after the first round, Nixie held her nerve in a dramatic final day showdown against former champion Anne Wraith.
The pair finished level after 36 holes, forcing a sudden-death playoff in front of a crowd of members and supporters.
Both players delivered strong tee shots, but Nixie’s steady par clinched the title.
Ms Wraith, who won the Ladies Scratch Trophy on the day, offered warm congratulations to her young opponent.
She said: “Nixie played superbly and deserved the win.
“It’s wonderful to see the next generation of talent coming through at Blackwell.”
In her post-round speech, Nixie expressed her gratitude to the club, her family, and her coach.
She said: “It means so much to win here.
“Thank you to Anne for a great round of golf, and to now be the ladies champion is amazing.”

A club spokesperson said: “The achievement highlights the strength of Blackwell Grange’s junior programme and the club’s commitment to developing young talent, while honouring its traditions and community spirit.”
Meanwhile, four other juniors from the club are currently competing in the 2025 Champion of Champions World Championship at Lough Erne Resort in Ireland.
Among the 250 junior champions from more than 40 countries are Ethan Jeff, junior club captain, Lilah Underdown, Charles Calvert, and Louis Brett.
