I was lucky enough to purchase a Nintendo Switch 2 on release day, and it’s definitely one of my favourite purchases so far. Without going into a massive review of the console, it is the definitive Switch experience, and it’s exciting to see what the future holds for it.
However, one thing I haven’t been able to purchase just yet is a carry case or something to protect my console as well as somewhere to hold games if I decide to take the console out and about.
There are plenty of choices out there, including the official Nintendo Switch 2 case, which can be bought almost everywhere. But there’s something that really put me off the case—and that’s why I didn’t pick it up.
The official case only comes with six slots for Switch/Switch 2 cartridges, which was a real dealbreaker for me because I own way more than six games that I would like to store.
And at a price of £20.99, I knew there are other alternatives out there that I could buy, especially as I had bought a great case for my old Switch.
In comes the £30 Orzly Nintendo Switch 2 case – the exact same brand I bought for my original Switch and I was pleasantly pleased to see that the case here on Amazon.
For 30 Great British Pounds, shoppers get a sturdy case for their Nintendo Switch 2, keeping up to 20 (yes, 20) game cartridges for an extra £10 than buying Nintendo’s official case. Yes, it may not look pretty, but having used the Orzly brand before, my old Switch has survived major drops without a scratch.
It also comes in a huge range of massive colours – and almost flawless reviews from other reviewers on Amazon. One shopper, who seems to match my experience, said: “I’ve had an Orzly case for my Switch 1 and I’ve loved it, so when it came to getting a case for my Switch 2, I didn’t even look at the other brands.
“I bought this and it’s as good, if not better than their Switch 1 case. Of course, it’s bigger to fit the new switch, but it holds a lot more games, velcro holds the flap in place, the netting has a zip so nothing falls out, and the inside actually feels softer. Even better the price is very competitive against the official versions”.
But the Orzly is one of the more expensive cases on the market and there are cheaper alternatives – like the official Nintendo case here for £21 or the mega cheap £10 Nacon case from Argos but as we mentioned, this is the case I’m going to go for – and you should too.
