Fortnite fans are counting down to the release of the first update of the latest season, not to mention the launch of Fortnite OG Season 8. Fortnite update 40.10 and OG Season 8 has an April 1 release date on PlayStation, Xbox, PC, Nintendo Switch and Android. The update will be accompanied by a period of server downtime, which starts at 9am BST UK time and ends at 10.30am BST. Once the update is downloaded and servers are back online, fans can enjoy all of the new content.

The news was announced by Epic Games on X, alongside a preview about what to expect from update 40.10.
“Fingers go pew pew,” reads an Epic Games tweet. “Downtime for v40.10 begins at 4 AM ET (8 AM UTC) with matchmaking ending shortly beforehand.”
The new update is expected to add the Chapter 7, Season 2 Super Styles, as well more pop culture crossovers such as a Super Meat Boy 3D Sidekick.
However, the big news is the launch of OG Season 8 and its Battle Pass. You can see the Battle Pass skins at the top of the page.
It also brings back locations such as Lazy Lagoon, The Volcano and Sunny Steps, as well as weapons and items like the Pirate Cannon, Treasure Maps, Flint-Knock Pistol and Poison Dart Trap.
Perhaps most exciting of all, however, is the imminent return of the Marvel Endgame LTM on April 3.
Elsewhere, the new update will add features like Text-To-Speech and Speech-To-Text.
“Enable these options in the ‘Communication’ Settings tab and have messages read aloud and use your mic to dictate text chats,” Epic explains.
