The 23-year-old versatile forward has been a leading target throughout the summer, with Boro now rewarded for their patience after agreeing a €3.5m deal with NEC Nijmegen.
Hansen is on Teesside putting the finishes touches to his move, which should be confirmed before the weekend.

Hansen was in-demand this summer having impressed in the Eredivisie over the last two seasons. Birmingham City were strongly linked, but the forward was also keen on the Boro move having learnt of the interest early in the summer.
