Both McGree and Bangura failed to make it to half-time at Valley Parade on Tuesday night, and neither featured in Saturday’s friendly draw with Rangers at Ibrox.
When Bangura became visibly upset as he left the field at Bradford, it was feared he had suffered a recurrence of the ACL injury that kept him out of the whole of last season.
Thankfully, scans have revealed that was not the case, with the left-back instead having suffered a hamstring strain that was almost certainly the result of having spent so much time out of action.
The injury will take around a month to heal, but Bangura should be potentially be available for first-team action after the first international break at the start of September.

McGree felt muscular tightness before leaving the field at Bradford, and while he was still not right when he attempted to step up training schedule at the end of last week, hence his absence at Ibrox, Edwards is confident the Australian’s problem is not serious.
He could be involved in either Wednesday’s game at Hartlepool United or Saturday’s final pre-season friendly against Deportivo La Coruna, and Edwards is hoping he be available for the Championship kick-off against Swansea City in less than a fortnight’s time.
“Riles [McGree] tried to train [on Friday], but just felt a little bit again,” said Edwards. “So, we just thought, ‘No, we’re not going to risk that’.
“Bangsy [Bangura] will probably be three or four weeks. It was a little damage to his hamstring, grade two. So, it doesn’t appear to be too serious.
“It’s a shame, but do you know what, with the way he felt afterwards, that’s a positive result, to be honest. It’s a real shame for him because he was making great strides after being out for so long. But it’s not a really serious one at least.”
Hayden Hackney was not involved in Saturday’s friendly draw in Glasgow, but the midfielder’s absence was largely precautionary after he felt a twinge in his knee in training.
