Brittain today completed his move from Blackburn, signing a four-year deal at the Riverside, and becoming the third new recruit of the summer after Abdoulaye Kante and Alfie Jones.
“I’m absolutely delighted to be a Boro player,” said the 27-year-old.
“It was the right time for me to make the next step in my career, and I’m excited to be here.
“I had a really good chat with the gaffer about how he wants to play and his ambition while he’s here, and it’s clearly an environment where everyone is pulling in the same direction.
“I can’t wait to get going.”

Brittain has been one of the stand-out right-backs in the Championship over the last couple of seasons. He’s as comfortable going forward as he is defensively, scoring two goals and providing five Championship assists for Rovers last term.
Brittain had moved into the final year of his contract at Ewood Park, and while Blackburn bosses were confident the defender would sign an extension at the start of the summer, the defender made known his desire to move to Boro when he learnt of the interest from Teesside.
