Cordero joined Newcastle last month following the end of his previous deal at Malaga, having made 60 senior appearances for the Spanish team, including 37 last season in La Liga 2.
The 18-year-old winger represented his country at this summer’s European Under-19 Championships and played a key role as Spain reached the final, where they finished as runners-up to the Netherlands. Cordero started four of Spain’s five matches in the tournament.
The teenager will now continue his development with KVC Westerlo, who finished ninth in the Belgian top-flight last season.
