Pictures of Spennymoor fans after heartbreaking 3-0 defeat

It wasn’t the fairytale ending the Moors had dreamed of, but for supporters, we can imagine it was still one to remember. 

Black and white scarves were held high as fans filled the stands under the famous Wembley arch, bringing colour and noise in support of their team on the biggest day in the club’s history.

While Aldershot proved too strong on the pitch, scoring three without reply, fans could still be seen smiling after the game – one they did really well to even be a part of. 

The part-time National League North side had already defied the odds to reach this stage, knocking out Boston, Sutton United and Rochdale on penalties in an unforgettable cup run that united the town.

Manager Graeme Lee, who had called reaching the final the best moment of his managerial career, told media before the game: “Now we’re there, we want to go and win this.”

Though the win eluded them, the journey will live long in the memory.
