The Dutch defender missed Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Norwich City after suffering an injury in training this week.
There was better news on the injury front with Neto Borges returning to the squad against the Canaries.
But Carrick revealed Borges is yet to train with the first team so wasn’t really in contention to be used from the bench. “It was good to have him back. We’ll see how it goes this week for Coventry.
“He hasn’t trained fully yet, only done a bit of rehab on the grass with the physios, so he was short for today in that respect.
