Spennymoor fans at Wembley ahead of FA Trophy final v Aldershot

For the first time ever, Spennymoor Town colours are draped around the famous arch as supporters gather in the sunshine ahead of the FA Trophy final, with kick-off set for 4.15pm today (May 11).

The National League North side face Aldershot Town, and while they go into the tie as underdogs, the Moors’ fans are in full voice, confident after a giant-killing run that has seen them knock out three teams from the division above.

These include Boston, Sutton United, and Rochdale on penalties in the semi-final.

Manager Graeme Lee has already called reaching the final “the best achievement” of his managerial career, having guided the part-time club all the way to Wembley. But he insists the job isn’t done yet.

Graeme Lee in his build up said: “We all keep saying it, and I’m guilty of it, saying what an achievement it is to get there.

“But now we’re there, we want to go and win this.”

Supporters unable to make the journey can watch the final live on TNT Sports 4 and discovery+, with coverage of both today’s Wembley finals—starting with AFC Whyteleafe vs Whitstable Town in the Isuzu FA Vase at 12.15pm.

For Spennymoor, though, all eyes are now on making history in the capital.
