Martha Anderson, 16, from Stockton and a former pupil of Our Lady & St Bede Catholic Academy, recently won gold at the British Coastal Rowing Championships in Tynemouth.
She competed in the J18 coxed mixed quad alongside her brother Henry and teammates Harry, Emily and Sefi.
Martha said: “I am really happy with my results and my rowing success.”
She achieved 7/6 in science, 5 in Spanish, 8 in geography, 9 in PE, 7 in English literature, 8 in English language, 7 in maths and 9 in RE.

She even asked teammates to quiz her during competitions.
Her mother, Ally, said: “We are so proud of her and glad that her hard work has really paid off.
“Martha had a few tears when she opened her results, but they were happy tears.”
Already a silver medallist at the U18 England Coastal Rowing Championships, Martha hopes to compete in the Olympics.
She will now go on to study PE, sociology and a third subject at Bede College.
