Sunderland Premier League fixtures 2025-26: Black Cats start at home

The Black Cats’ first game back in the top-flight after last season’s promotion will see them host the Hammers at the Stadium of Light in a 3pm kick-off on Saturday, August 16.

Sunderland’s first away game of the new season takes them to Turf Moor to take on Burnley, one of the teams that were promoted alongside them last term.

They then return to the Stadium of Light to complete their August programme with a home game against Brentford.

Sunderland head to Old Trafford to face Manchester United at the start of October, and host Everton and Arsenal in back-to-back home matches in early November.

December starts with a bang, with away games at Liverpool and Manchester City scheduled to take place within the space of four days.

The first derby game of the season will then take place on the weekend of December 13, with Sunderland hosting Newcastle United at the Stadium of Light.

There is not a full Boxing Day programme this year, with Sunderland due to host Leeds United on Saturday, December 27.

The Black Cats are also at home on Tuesday, December 30, hosting Manchester City, before starting 2026 with a trip to Tottenham on January 3.

The home game against champions Liverpool is on Wednesday, February 11, with the second derby match of the campaign, which will see Sunderland travel to St James’ Park, due to take place on Saturday, March 21.

Sunderland’s final away game takes them to Everton to May 17, with the season due to conclude with a home match against Chelsea on Sunday, May 24.
