The world is experiencing a bit of Spider-Man fever at the moment with Brand New Day storming the cinemas and Insomniac’s games having a bit of a second moment at the same time. If you’re more of a DC fan though, you’re in for just as much of a treat as possibly the best Batman game of all time is currently on sale for less than £4 on the PlayStation Store.
Batman Arkham Knight might have released back in 2015, but it still pulls punches with games that released just yesterday. As the third game in Rocksteady’s Arkham trilogy, it builds on all the lessons the team learned in their previous outings and drops the Dark Knight into one of the best open world Gotham’s we’ve ever seen, complete with a massive rogue’s gallery of villains and even the Batmobile.
It’s often a toss-up between Arkham Knight and City for which game takes the crown as the best in the series, but for my money, it has to be Arkham Knight. This is where the free-flow combat that Rocksteady pioneered felt fully realised, and it still feels just as fresh to play in 2026 as it did in 2015.
Arkham Knight also remains one of the best looking games ever made, with Gotham lit almost entirely by moonlight and the neon signs of its streets reflecting beautifully in its puddles. Rain beads off Batman’s cape as he glides across the city, giving it a sense of realism that the other games just couldn’t capture with their technology at the time.
The Batmobile sections are a little more controversial, and they may not be entirely to your taste. Thankfully, they’re pretty few and far between in the story, and you don’t have to take part in the optional challenges if you don’t want to.
Collectable fans will absolutely love the sheer volume of secrets to find and puzzles to solve in Arkham Knight, though. With over 400 Riddler trophies scattered around the map, you’ll have your work cut out for you if you want to find everything this game has to offer.
Batman: Arkham Knight has been included in the PlayStation Plus catalogue before, so it’s likely that many gamers will already own this title. If you don’t though, now is the perfect time to pick it up with the deep PlayStation Store discount taking it from £15.99 right the way down to £3.99.
