Nintendo is treating fans well this week as it’s set to put on two completely different Direct presentations for fans. Wednesday’s show will be dedicated to a variety of Nintendo’s first and third party titles, while Tuesday’s event will be solely dedicated to The Legend of Zelda series for the 40th anniversary.
If you’re looking to tune in for the big event, you’ll need to know exactly what time the Nintendo Direct starts. I’ve listed the start time countdown below, as well as a few leaks and rumours of what we can likely expect to see at the event.
Legend of Zelda Nintendo Direct start time
The Legend of Zelda Nintendo Direct is set to kick off at 3pm BST on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.

Nintendo has already confirmed that the Zelda direct will last for around 30 minutes, which is pretty lengthy for a presentation dedicated to just one franchise.
The publisher hasn’t confirmed exactly what we’ll see during the Direct, but we can make a few educated guesses – and there are also a few leaks knocking around that might give us a hint or two.
Legend of Zelda Nintendo Direct leaks so far
So far, it seems incredibly likely that we’ll see more of The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time remake. The title was revealed earlier in the summer with a short teaser trailer and a vague 2026 release window.
As the year enters its final third, we’re still in the dark as to when this mysterious remake will be landing on Switch 2 consoles, so it seems likely that Nintendo will finally put us out of our misery. The question is, will it clash with the ever-looming GTA 6?
It’s also likely we’ll see some gameplay of the Ocarina of Time remake. In fact, I’d wager that will take up the bulk of the presentation.
A leak last week also seems to suggest that the Nintendo Switch 2 is getting its first major special edition in conjunction with Ocarina of Time. A European retailer seems to have listed the SKU IDs for an Ocarina of Time special edition Nintendo Switch 2, which is great timing with this week’s Zelda Direct.
Those two things seem to be slam dunks for the presentation, but there’s every chance we could see something else shown too. I also reckon we’ll see a teaser trailer for the upcoming live action Legend of Zelda movie that’s slated to release in April 2027.
Personally, I’m also holding out for a tease of the next big Zelda game coming after Tears of the Kingdom. After playing through Breath of the Wild again with the Switch 2 upgrades, it’s got me hankering for another new title in the series.
