It’s a good day to be an Apex Legends fan, because developer Respawn and publisher EA are planning to launch a new event that will run all the way until early September. Titled Ascended Hunt, the new Apex Legends event gives players the chance to unlock Gibraltar’s new Apex Bruddah Prestige Skin, all the while powering up abilities in order to take out the competition.
If you’re itching for some new content to sink your teeth into over the next few weeks, then the good news is that the Apex Legends Ascended Hunt event has an August 18 release date. The festivities kick off at 5pm BST UK time, and run until the same time on September 8. This gives fans three weeks to unlock those rewards.
According to Respawn, the aim of the game is to claim the power of the gods, specifically EVO Enhancing Wild Cards that can be powered up and evolved.
The powers are designed to enhance certain gameplay quirks and abilities, giving players additional speed, superior combat skills and more resilience.
“Ancient power from beyond the Outlands has reached into the Arena, blessing the Legends with gifts from the gods,” reads the official description.
“Claim them to move with supernatural speed, steal enemy health, and tear through opponents. With every fight your power grows, until you rise as the ultimate hunter in Wildcard.”
For example, ‘EVO Enhancing Hipfire’ is said to “tighten your hipfire spread”, while EVO Enhancing Crits will “raise your crit chance”.
EVO Enhancing Shield Regen boosts your character’s shield regeneration, Enhanced Lifesteal grows your lifesteal percentage, and enhanced Mantle Boosts means your character can launch higher and farther when using the ability.
Finally, EVO Enhancing Slide Boosts let you slide further and faster around the battlefield.
As Respawn points out, more Wildcard slots will open throughout the battle, giving you the chance to really develop a powerful build for the final circle.
Needless to say, fans can unlock new rewards by participating in the event, most notably Gibraltar’s new Apex Bruddah Prestige Skin, which can be seen at the top of the page and in the trailer above.
This includes a custom finisher fit for a demigod, as well as flame-based Dive Trail.
Elsewhere, Respawn plans to add 24 cosmetic items to the game as part of the event, including Legendary skins for Valkyrie, Conduit, Wraith, Alter, Lifeline, and Horizon.
That’s on top of weapon skins such as the R-301, Havoc, Alternator, L-STAR, Bocek, and 30-30 Repeater.
