It was seven years ago when the MCU’s Infinity Saga concluded with the long-awaited follow-up to Avengers Infinity War. Avengers Endgame went on to smash box office records and was briefly the highest-grossing film of all time with over $2.79 billion taken globally.
Avatar was re-released and reclaimed the top spot, but it looks like Marvel could do the same with Avengers Endgame Encore, set for release in UK cinemas on September 25. The re-release features four minutes of new footage, which includes a custom introduction and a new post-credits scene special look at Avengers Doomsday, which is a direct sequel from director The Russo Brothers starring Robert Downey Jr as Doctor Doom, reunited with Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers and Chris Hemsworth’s Thor.
Aside from a return to IMAX (Avengers Endgame was shot entirely on digital IMAX cameras), the re-release will screen in Infinity Vision, which Disney says “is a certification for Premium Large Format (PLF) theaters, meaning moviegoers are guaranteed an exceptional film presentation. This includes big screens, with bright images and outstanding sound. When you see the INFINITY VISION badge, you know you are in for an incredible theatrical experience.”
Avengers Endgame Encore hits UK cinemas on September 25, 2026 (get tickets here) ahead of Avengers Doomsday on December 18, 2026.
