Gamescom is almost upon us with Geoff Keighley’s Opening Night Live set to kick the event off on Tuesday, August 25, 2026. While Gamescom is mostly an in-person affair with publishers showing off their games to both the general public and journalists alike, the Opening Night Live presentation is set to have plenty of new announcements and fresh looks at upcoming games for those watching at home.
Keighley has already teased a few games that we can expect to see at ONL, as well as tempered our expectations for things we shouldn’t expect to see. Here’s what time it all kicks off and which games to look out for.
Gamescom Opening Night Live start time in the UK
Gamescom Opening Night Live is set to start at 7pm BST on August 25, 2026.
However, this is when the main show starts. There’s actually a 30-minute pre-show that starts at 6:30pm BST that you’ll want to tune in for if you’re keen to see everything announced in the evening.
That being said, the main show is where all of the major announcements will show up, so if you’re short on time, 7pm BST is when you really need to show up.

Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026 predictions
Host Geoff Keighley has confirmed several of the games that we can expect to see at Gamescom Opening Night Live. So far, those include:
- The Witcher 3 – Songs of the Past DLC
- Final Fantasy 7 Revelation
- Gears of War: E-Day
- Ananta
- Tides of Annihilation
- Metro 2039
- Game of Thrones: War for Westeros
- Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons
Of course, there are plenty more games we’d like to see appear at Gamescom ONL. For me, my main picks would be more detailed looks at Resident Evil Code Veronica, as well as new trailers for Fable and God of War Laufey.
There’s also likely to be plenty of new surprises waiting for us in the wings. With just one day to go, we don’t have long left to wait until all is revealed.
