PS Plus subscribers are set to get a host of new games to try out as part of their membership. The next monthly slate of titles is set to be announced imminently ahead of September’s drop.
Sony are getting ready to announce next month’s PS Plus games for the service’s Essential tier. The new batch of titles will replace those leaving in the coming days, including PS5 games like Madden NFL 26, Persona 5 Tactica and Shadowrun Returns. But when will we know what’s coming in September and what’s predicted? Read on below to find out more.
PS Plus September 2026 reveal date and time
Sony are braced to announce the new games coming to PS Plus this week. Confirmation is expected at 4.30pm tomorrow (Wednesday, August 26).
Players looking for something new to sink their teeth into will have to wait a little longer, however. The games themselves, once announced, won’t be available until next week.
Sony usually drop the new PS Plus games on the first Tuesday of the new month. In this case, that happens to also be September 1.
PS Plus September 2026 predictions
Trying to predict what Sony might add for Essential members is tricky, but one thing seems very sure. Despite Madden NFL 26 leaving, it won’t be replaced by the recently released Madden NFL 27.
Big-name EA Sports titles tend to be made available to subscription services much closer to the end of the season. In the case of the long-running Madden NFL series, expect that to be around the same time as the Super Bowl in February.
Instead, we think Sony might drop titles like Spider-Man 2, which can follow up the huge success of Spider-Man: Brand New Day in cinemas. The timing might be perfect for Insomniac’s Spidey sequel, with fresh comic book title Marvel’s Wolverine launching in September.
Fans have speculated on other possible titles, with many predicting that Stellar Blade will arrive on PS Plus in September. The PS5 exclusive action adventure places players in a post-apocalyptic Earth fighting to reclaim it from monstrous extra-terrestrials.
Another possibility is Dispatch, an episodic superhero comedy that became a huge breakout hit last year. The narrative-driven workplace-based title could offer a choice-driven break from heavier games if it gets added to the new line-up.
