Nintendo Switch 2 price warning – buy now or face paying more | Gaming | Entertainment

Nintendo fans be warned, it’s almost time for the Switch 2 price increases to come into effect, with the company announcing the new prices customers will be forced to pay from September 1 in the UK, Europe, US and Japan. The only good news is that the Nintendo Switch 2 price increases aren’t quite as severe as rival consoles.

In a recent social media post, the UK Nintendo Store confirmed that the Switch 2’s price will increase by £24 beginning September 1.

The recommended retail price of the Switch 2 will increase from £395.99 to £419.99 on this date.

This means customers have less than two weeks to purchase the console at the reduced price.

It’s even cheaper at Amazon, where the Nintendo Switch 2 console costs just £374.99 for a limited time.

These particular models don’t come with any games, although the Switch 2 is backwards compatible with the original Switch, so you can transfer your games across if you already own the predecessor.

Amazon has a few bundles available at discounted prices, including a console with a copy of Splatoon Raiders for £414.98.

A Switch 2 with Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream also costs £414.98, while a bundle containing Pokemon Pokopia costs £423.99. The original Mario Kart World bundle is the most expensive, retailing for £434.94 on Amazon.

Explaining the decision to raise the price of the console, Nintendo blamed ‘changes in market conditions’ and ‘global business outlook’.

“We sincerely apologise for the impact these price revisions may have on our customers and other stakeholders, and we deeply appreciate your understanding,” Nintendo said.

PS5 and Xbox Series price increases were far more extreme, with the latter shooting up from £499 to £669.

The PS5 Pro, on the other hand, increased from £699.99 to £789.99.
