Twin Peaks had a complete grip on pop culture back in the 90s – and for good reason. The weird, mind-bending and twisty thriller was unlike any other show on TV back then, with director David Lynch’s creation going on to inspire plenty of modern shows, movies and video games today.

While Twin Peaks officially ended with the third and final season – dubbed ‘The Return’ – back in 2017, it looks like it could be making another comeback. This time, it looks like it won’t be in the form of a TV show at all.

Last night, the PC gaming platform Steam suffered a huge leak which saw the achievements of a huge number of unreleased games go public early. Not only did this reveal spoilers for some of 2026’s and 2027’s most anticipated games, but it also unveiled a few games that were previously unbeknownst to the public.

One of them looks like it might be a Twin Peaks game.

As listed on Exophase, which is where all of the leaked Steam achievements are listed, a currently untitled game shows two achievements. One is a simple test achievement, while the other is titled ‘Welcome to Twin Peaks’.

It also has a description that reads, “Reach the Double R Diner”. That’s the famous diner that Agent Cooper eats his cherry pie at towards the start of the first season, with it appearing multiple more times throughout the full show.

Right now, there currently isn’t a Twin Peaks game announced or claimed by any known game developer. In fact, despite its setting and premise lending itself extremely well to a video game premise, there hasn’t been an all-out Twin Peaks game since the series’ debut.

Which developer would suit a Twin Peaks game?

The closest we’ve ever gotten to a Twin Peaks game are those that are clearly directly inspired by it. The Deadly Premonition games borrow heavily from its spooky themes, and the influence on most of Remedy’s work on the Alan Wake games is clear as day.

Personally, I’d absolutely love to see Remedy Entertainment pick up the license for a Twin Peaks game. It’s currently set to release Control Resonant as its next game on September 24, 2026, with the public currently in the dark on whatever its next project may be.

Of course, there’s no guarantee that this Twin Peaks project will ever see the light of day. Plenty of games make it a fair way through the development process before they end up getting scrapped for a multitude of reasons.

The fact that there’s only one achievement listed in the Steam leak with the other a placeholder indicates that whatever this project is, it’s probably not all that close to getting released.

There’s also the sad reality that if this is indeed a Twin Peaks game, the original series creator David Lynch won’t have anything to do with it. The esteemed director sadly passed away in January 2025.

We’ll report back when we know more concrete details about whether this alleged Twin Peaks game really is in the works.
