After yesterday’s huge reveal for the 40th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda, gamers are braced for more major news. Nintendo is back at it again this afternoon with an unprecedented move.
Nintendo has chosen to host back-to-back Nintendo Direct showcases across two days. Despite usually tacking on anniversary celebrations to regular Nintendo Directs broadcasts, we were treated to a Zelda special that included the gameplay reveal for the upcoming Ocarina of Time remake on Switch 2. Although that and the release date – confirmed to be November 5 – were widely expected to be revealed, the Nintendo Direct coming this afternoon is a little less predictable.
Starting at 3pm BST today (Wednesday, September 9), the Direct’s contents have been kept typically close to the chest. A simple statement on the Nintendo website reads: “A new Nintendo Direct is coming!
“Tune in on Wednesday September 9, at 3pm (UK time) for around 45 minutes focused on games coming to Nintendo Switch 2 this winter.”
