Diablo 4 developer Blizzard has been forced to delay the release of Season 15 due to the discovery of a bug that took the game offline at launch. The new season will be given a new release date on PlayStation, Xbox and PC, after thousands of fans were greeted with error codes when attempting to login.
Celebrating 30 years of the Diablo series, Season of Hell’s Legacy introduces legendary Horadrim Deckard Cain to Diablo 4, alongside a new questline, quality of life upgrades and a whole host of new rewards. It was scheduled to start at 6pm BST UK time on the afternoon of September 15, but has now been delayed to an unspecified date and time due to an unforseen error.
The news was announced by Blizzard on X: “We’re aware of an issue preventing some players from accessing Diablo IV. The team is actively investigating and working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
“We appreciate your patience and will share another update as soon as we have more information.”
In a follow up post, a Diablo 4 spokesperson said that Season 15 will be delayed and that more information will follow.
“We’re continuing to address issues affecting today’s launch of Season of Hell’s Legacy.
“As a result, Season 15 is currently delayed. We appreciate your patience while we work to resolve the issues and we’ll share updates as we have them.”
Fingers crossed it’s not too long a delay and that Season 15 makes its debut soon.
Technical issues aside, Season 15 is one of the more exciting seasons in recent months.
As part of the Seasonal Questline, players are tasked with collecting the three Splinters of Evil by defeating echoes of Diablo beneath Tristram Cathedral, Baal at Arreat Summit, and Mephisto within the Durance of Hate.
Players can also take advantage of the Rebirth feature to begin a fresh journey in the Seasonal Realm, all the while discovering new Unique Charms that expand buildcrafting opportunities.
Depending on the Battle Pass, players can unlock rewards such as the Lordling of Terror Pet, as well as the Wings of Justice Reactive Cosmetic.
