A DJ is organising a rave where attendees are being encouraged to bring their party-loving grandparents along.

London-based DJ Rossi, who typically performs for younger ravers in Ibiza, has pledged to welcome a distinctly different crowd next month [October 8].

The minimal house artist is hosting a BYOG club night (Bring Your Own Grandparent) in partnership with liqueur brand Kahlúa for a single evening only.

The Not A Nightcap party at Number 90, in Hackney Wick, East London, will feature a fully stocked bar and designated areas where grandparents can rest after dancing.

The announcement follows research from the alcohol brand which found seven in 10 Brits (71%) embrace the concept of traditional spirits receiving a modern twist, reports.

Craig Van Niekerk, vice president of marketing at Kahlúa, has questioned ‘who decided cream liqueur was exclusively for nightcaps?’

DJ Rossi said: “I never thought I’d be telling people to bring their grandparents to a club night but here we are and I’m absolutely here for it. They’ve had their fair share of big nights over the years so I reckon they might even show the rest of us how it’s done.

“I’ll be bringing the tunes, while Kahlúa Coffee Cream brings something creamy, dreamy and a little unexpected to the night. Good music, good people, a few drinks and your nan cutting shapes on the dance floor – what’s not to love? Grab your tickets, and I’ll see you in Hackney Wick.”

The DJ has become part of Kahlúa’s latest campaign alongside 81-year-old Grimegran (AKA Margie Keefe) and her grandson Beau the Beard. Irish TikTok personality Grandad Frank also features in an amusing, telenovela-style video entitled Not A Nightcap – shot at a retirement home.

It demonstrates how the Mexican coffee cream liqueur from Kahlúa is designed for celebration rather than bedtime. Grimegran said: “If you think cream liqueur is for quietly sipping in your armchair, you can f*** off.

“Kahlúa Coffee Cream is smooth and creamy with a proper coffee kick! It’s got way more life in it than most people my age, trust me babes. So grab your granny or grandad, gather your mates, and let’s show them how a real party is done.”

Kahlua Coffee Cream will launch across Europe, the UK, Mexico, Sweden, Ireland, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Turkey, Slovenia and Germany from September 2026.

The initiative arrives as consumption patterns are reportedly moving earlier, with increasing appetite for more informal early evening gatherings.

Research commissioned by Kahlúa Coffee Cream suggests 82% of 18 to 35-year-olds believe that serving Kahlúa Coffee Cream chilled as either a shot or a cocktail alters their perception of the product.

Craig Van Niekerk said: “Who decided cream liqueur was exclusively for nightcaps? We certainly didn’t.

“Kahlúa Coffee Cream is here to stir things up and bring a smooth coffee twist that’s just as at home at a casual catch-up as it is after dinner.

“Because great drinks shouldn’t be saved for special occasions.” Revellers can secure free tickets via Eventbrite today.
