Jacob Elordi (9/1) and Callum Turner (7/4) have both had turns at the top spot in the bookies’ next James Bond race. Most recently, Slow Horses star Jack Lowden has leapfrogged them and is currently at 6/4 with Coral.
However, another rising star has just had his odds of replacing Daniel Craig as 007 slashed from 25/1 to 10/1, after a flurry of bets over the last 24 hours. The actor in question is Leo Suter, the 32-year-old star of Netflix’s Vikings: Valhalla.
Coral’s John Hill said: “Bond betting bombshell! Leo Suter has been heavily backed to be the next 007, with punters sending his odds crashing from 25/1 to 10/1. He’s gone from outsider to one of the names to watch in the blink of an eye.”
Given he’s not quite a household name yet, perhaps he made it through to the next round of auditions this month? Whatever the case, Hollywood insider Matt Belloni said on his most recent podcast episode of The Town, that even the new 007 producers don’t know who the next Bond is just yet.
Spectre is on ITV1 at 9:35pm tonight and No Time To Die follows at 8pm on Sunday.
