Sony has scheduled a State of Play presentation for later this week with the showcase set to feature a bunch of big titles coming to PlayStation 5 in the next few months and beyond. The platform holder hasn’t specified exactly which games we can expect to see yet, but we do know the show will close out with a detailed look at the world of Final Fantasy 7 Revelation.
Players are also hoping to see more of God of War Laufey, as well as a potential tease for Naughty Dog’s next game, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. With less than 24 hours left until the air time, we don’t have long left until we’ll find out what’s in store.
Here’s a countdown to the start time of the State of Play on September 3 so you know exactly when to tune in.
State of Play start time countdown
This week’s Sony State of Play for is set to kick off at 2pm BST on Thursday, September 3.
This is a lot earlier than normal, with these PlayStation events normally kicking off around 10pm. Still, as someone who’d much rather report on the showcase during work hours rather than just before bedtime, I’m not complaining.
Here’s that start time converted to a few other time zones around the world:
We don’t know exactly how long the State of Play presentation will be. The same presentation last year lasted for 40 minutes and gave us a look at both Saros and Marvel’s Wolverine.
There’s also set to be a second presentation starting right after the first, with the second half focusing on games made by Sony’s Japan and other east Asia studios.
Interestingly, this is set to be the first State of Play since Sony announced its plans to axe physical game copies from January 2028. I’m looking forward to seeing whether the comment section remains on for this one, and if the company addresses the backlash at all.
Which game would you most like to see at Sony State of Play this week?
