Call of Duty publisher Activision has plenty planned for the week ahead, including a major update for Black Ops 7 and Warzone. Just a few hours ahead of Call of Duty Next event and early access beta, Activision will release Season 5 Reloaded on PlayStation, Xbox and PC.
The Call of Duty mid-season update has an August 20 release date and a 5pm BST UK release time. Black Ops 7 fans can expect a new multiplayer map that takes place within a pinball machine, complete with bumpers, ramps and targets. That’s on top of a new obstacle course in Freerun, as players attempt to earn rewards by completing mobility challenges across seven zones.
As for Warzone, fans will be able to check out a returning game mode, as Black Ops Royale makes its return.
The Blackout-inspired Battle Royale ditches the Loadouts, Gulag, and Buy Stations. Similar to classic Battle Royale games, players will need to scavenge weapons, hunt for Attachment Kits and survive to the end.
Activision explains more: “Featuring a variety of enhanced objectives, dangerous zones with hallucinated zombie hordes, and only two ways to redeploy into battle, Black Ops Royale keeps the action varied and fast paced in a survival setting where the last squad standing wins.”
Activision will also introduce the Loaded Resurgence LTM for the next weekend.
There are also various new gameplay features such as Most Wanted Contracts, which can be completed to secure the Quickdrop Kit. This kit reduces the redeploy time in Resurgence.
Special Delivery Drones will also make an appearance, giving fans the chance to earn Weapon Camos.
